USAID West Africa Evidence for Development (E4D)
UCB Bixby has a subcontract on the five-year, $13.5M E4D project which aims to provide evidence in HIV/AIDS and family planning to inform policy advocacy and program planning, including resource allocation in six countries in West Africa. Capacity-building interventions and assessments are woven throughout the life of E4D to build a cadre of personnel and institutions capable of conducting rigorous operations research and evaluation studies. As part of this project, Bixby Center led the E4D team to generate evidence on the role of AgirPF’s technical strategies on contraceptive uptake and various quality of care indicators in Lomé, Togo. The Bixby Center also conducted a study to provide evidence on the role of the information and communication technology (ICT) approaches used by PACTE-VIH in Togo to improve access to HIV prevention, treatment, and care among female sex workers (FSW) and men who have sex with men (MSM).
